The newly appointed Minister of Police Fikile Mbalula, who is affectionately known as “razzmatazz” ,has dispelled the notion of the ousted Ministry of Finance, Pravin Gordhan as “hero of people”. He believes that Gordhan, whom South Africans have seen as “darling of anti-corruption” was serving in the interest of white monopoly capital.
Speaking in defence of president Jacob Zuma in Durban City Hall, subsequent to widespread anti-Zuma protest that saw unprecedented crowd, Mbalula lambasted the capitalist, who are masquerading as revolutionists by asking Zuma to step down.
“People are not rebelling against ANC, the white monopoly capital is manipulating our people to further its narrow agenda” said Mbalula.
He claimed that the ousted Minister has been using ANC name to promote anarchy. It is arguable that the former Minister of sports and recreation rallied behind president Zuma’s decision to axe Gordhan. In his eyes, the decision were informed by the best interest of the nation.
Gordhan and his deputy, Mcebisi Jonas were axed over the unsubstantiated and bogus report, that the state security Minister David Mahlobo rejected any knowledge of.
Initially, what transpired between Gordhan and Zuma to cause this overhaul had nothing to do with the ANC. Notwithstanding the party subsequently taking collective responsibility.
